OTTAWA – Cardus is pleased to announce that Étienne-Alexandre Beauregard has joined its research team.
Bringing Étienne-Alexandre on board comes as part of Cardus’s expansion into Quebec, something that started in February 2025 when Jean-Christophe Jasmin joined as Quebec director. With this strengthened team, Cardus plans to establish itself more firmly in Quebec’s public sphere, proposing public policy that will allow individuals, institutions, and government to work together for the common good.
“We’re proud to welcome Étienne-Alexandre Beauregard to our team,” says Jean-Christophe Jasmin, Quebec Director for Cardus. “His career demonstrates a real intellectual commitment to the fundamental issues relating to the common good. His contributions will enrich public debate in Quebec and support the development of public policies that promote the flourishing of our society.”
With a background in political philosophy and public administration, Étienne-Alexandre has been part of a new generation of Quebec intellectuals for several years. His essays, Le Schisme identitaire (The Identity Schism) and Le Retour des Bleus (The Return of the Blues), have contributed to political debate in Quebec, in addition to attracting praise from numerous intellectuals and elected officials. Between 2022 and 2025, he served as speech writer and strategic planning advisor for the cabinet of Quebec’s premier. His passion for political ideas and his direct political experience make him an ideal candidate for Cardus.
“I’m proud to join the Cardus team, given its involvement in Canadian public debates for 25 years now, and to contribute to its establishment in Quebec,” says Étienne-Alexandre. “This new role is completely in line with my commitment to the common good and for institutions that strengthen it, including the state, civil society, and families. Cardus proposes innovative solutions to problems Quebec and Canada are facing, and I’m happy to add my efforts to that work.”
